THOMPSON SMITH, CEO & Founder
Thompson Smith is the founder of the Argus Companies and started the company in 2002. He presently serves as Chief Executive Officer, directing the company’s business focus, strategic development, directional growth, and integrity. Mr. Smith strongly believes in providing clients/partners the very best staffing services with devoted teammates and technology. Under his vision and leadership, the Argus Companies has become nationally recognized as one of the top crowd management firms in the country.
Mr. Smith began working in the crowd management industry in 1982. He was hired by MCA Concerts as the Operations Director at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre in 1988 and maintained that role until 1990. In 1990, Mr. Smith launched an event staffing company in Denver and maintained a Vice President role for more than 10 years.
Smith lives in Colorado and serves on numerous boards and committees. Currently, he is a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) Colorado Chapter and also serves on the Metro Denver Sports Commission Board. He is involved in youth hockey and is the President of the AAA Colorado Thunderbirds and Vice President of Littleton Hockey Association. Mr. Smith is an avid hockey player and enjoys coaching youth hockey.
Mr. Smith is a graduate of the University of Northern Colorado where he received a degree in Criminal Justice / Business.
Mr. Smith was instrumental in planning and providing event staffing for the 1993 World Youth Day presented. He was recognized and presented a Commendation Award from the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s office for his role in the Papal visit to Colorado.
